Senaptec Sensory Station

Brain Injury, Concussion and the Senaptec Sensory Station

After a brain injury or concussion there is often changes in visual function. These changes include blurred vision, loss of peripheral vision, double vision, difficulty with visual attention and perception, hand eye co-ordination, difficulty changing between near and far vision, and  cognitive (mental)  tasks  that rely on visual processing.

All of these can be assessed using the Senaptec sensory station, providing objective outcomes of strengths and weaknesses and then creating an individual rehabilitation programme.

After a brain injury or concussion there may also be vestibular issues. Although vestibular problems can occur without a brain injury.

Vestibular Problems and the Senaptec Sensory Station

The vestibular system and the visual system work together to provide information about your body position and the position of objects in the environment around you. Together they provide information about your movement and the movement of objects in the environment around you. This enables you to balance and move around safely without bumping into objects or other people. When this goes wrong you feel unbalanced, dizzy, as if the world is spinning, and do not tolerate busy or moving environments. You may have difficulty reading, scrolling on screens or paying attention. You may suffer with fatigue.

Using the Senaptec sensory station Physiocare Rehab can offer combined visual and vestibular rehabilitation to address all of the above problems.

The Senaptec sensory station can be fully customised to you, making sure that your rehabilitation is always at the right level so you continue to improve.
